The 1454 was
the top of the Silvertone line for the time it was offered, along with the 1446.
Its successor, the 1485, would be the same guitar except for the addition of a double cutaway. In fact, some
1485s are stamped 1454 inside!

The 1454 was made by Harmony, and it closely
resembles the H78, save for the H78s double cutaway. The 1454 held a top of the
line position in the Silvertone family, and its price reflected that; as high as
$209.95 at one point, it was one of the priciest Silvertone guitars ever made
available. The successor to the 1429, and the predecessor of the 1485, the
beautiful 1454 was well made and very attractive, and is still a much sought
after guitar.
