The 1211 enjoyed a short but happy life. Just look
at that smilin' guy strumming down there in the catalog listings! Well, that was
it, aside from a quick 'Wish Book' offer and an appearance in a 1970 supplement.

The 1211
was the last of its breed; you wouldn't see
anymore block-markered, trapeze-tailed, round-holed guitars bearing the
Silvertone name after this one. Well, really you wouldn't see any more guitars
at all bearing the Silvertone name for much longer, as the '70
catalogs was chock-full of 'Space Dots.'
The upcoming 1212 would be 'pumpkin-colored,' but with an attached bridge. So,
the 'look,' tracing back to the 615, was over.
Preceded in body shape and features by the 615/641/1210, the
last few out the door were available in the block logo'd style.
