Cat Power, the nom de rock of Chan Marshall, bought her first Silvertone, a 1448, because she had a crush on Dexter Romweber. It sat forlornly in her New York apartment until bored, she picked it up one day and decided to learn to play it.

A unique artist, Chan has said that "all she ever wanted was to play the song right." Her albums have been experimental, soulful... unusual and great.

When she has a guitar in her hands, it's usually of Dano origins: maybe that custom 1448, maybe that 'Frankentone' f-hole, or maybe the Dano reissue; Cat has a fondness for our favorites.
