The 1448 was a one-two punch of marketing and
engineering genius. The marketing came from a man named Fisher; the musical
instrument 'buyer' for (and future Vice President of) Sears, and the engineering
was provided by Nat Daniel, founder and visionary behind Danelectro.
Joe Fisher knew he needed a 'complete package' to be able to sell
lots of electric guitars at Sears. So he and Daniel got together and hammered
out the concept and executed the production of the 'amp-in-case' models that we
know and love today.
Thank you, gentlemen.

The full story of how the 1448 and the other
Silvertone amp-in-case models came about is excerpted here from 'Tales of a
Dinosaur,' the autobiography of the late Joe Fisher. SilvertoneWorld is pleased
and privileged to be able to provide this information, along with some great
remembrances and information from his grandson and son, Curtis Daniel
Fisher and CW Fisher.
