The 1950s was a
golden era in America in cars, music, and of course, Silvertone amplifiers and
instruments. The (mostly) Danelectro-made amplifiers of the years 1950-1960 are

supreme coolness. Will ya look at that crowd to the left? More than 20 separate amp
Maybe 'back then' they were popular because you could obtain them inexpensively just so you could prove that you deserved a Fender, Gibson, Gretsch or other 'better' amp; nowadays they are sought after for their intelligent, economical engineering, classic styling, and a sound that only hot tubes can generate.
The first FULL line of Danelectro designed and manufactured amps, sharing a similar and pretty funky look - alligator and tweed.
