The 1471 & 1481 amps were the 'Champs' of the Silvertone line for a number of years. 5 watts of power into an 8" speaker.
They were both sweet little amps, with simple volume and tone controls and two
inputs. Sears sold a ton of them, and they both still enjoy great
popularity today.

The main visual difference between the two models was the covering
material: the 1471 was covered in "black leatherette" with white piping towards
the front edge, and the 1481 was "gray leatherette." The V/T knobs were different as well; the
1471 had white 'dome' ribbed knobs, same as the 'U' shaped guitars of the time, while the 1481 shared knobs with the amp-in-case
amps and guitars; the black, ribbed cylindrical ones with the paper insert.
