Havin' a Hootenanny? Well,
this four string guitar will look right at home with your attempt at being the
Kingston Trio or Brothers Four or the New Main Street Singers. As often happens
when a large company tries to jump on a bandwagon, sometimes the wagon rolls on
by before the jump is made. Such was the case with the 661, offered for a quick
two years.

The 661 came along to capitalize on the folk craze
of the early 60s. Kay built upon the shape of the popular 618/620 and came up
with a tenor guitar. It was only available for a two year catalog cycle, as the
folk boom of the early 60s had clearly been supplanted by the British Invasion
and rock and roll. So, a passing fad, and a rare guitar.
