The 600 series guitars are known by many different model names,
and share two distinctive looks, and might fool you. The first ones offered
from 1948 through mid-1956 have a rounded bottom, and the 'peaked' pickguard.
After mid-1956, the shoulders and bottom becomes noticeably 'squarer,' but the pickguard
remains the same, and the most widely available and well-known models start
here. It was one of the most popular Silvertone acoustics throughout the life of
this well-loved and much-played guitar.
Introduced:
Fall/Winter 1948 at $21.95
Retired: 1969 as a Silvertone branded guitar at $38.95
1971 as a 'Space Dot' guitar at $42.95
